How it works

The relay, explained.

GuardPrivacy sits between the public and a protected registrant. Nothing reaches the registrant automatically — every message is screened first, and their private details are never exposed to you.

  1. 01

    Domain owner

A registrant enables privacy protection on their domain.

  2. 02

    GuardPrivacy identity

Our contact details replace the registrant's in the record.

  3. 03

    Public WHOIS / RDAP

Anyone querying the domain sees GuardPrivacy, not the owner.

  4. 04

    Secure contact form

You submit a message through this site. You get a reference.

  5. 05

    GuardPrivacy review

We screen for spam and abuse before anything is relayed.

  6. 06

    Domain owner

Legitimate messages are forwarded privately. Replies come back through us.

For people contacting an owner

What you can expect

  • You never see the registrant's private email, name or address.
  • Your message is reviewed by GuardPrivacy before it is forwarded.
  • You receive a ticket reference and email confirmation.
  • If the owner replies, we relay it back to you — their address stays private.
  • Delivery does not guarantee a reply. Responding is at the registrant's discretion.
For people reporting abuse

How reports are handled

  • Reports are read by our trust & safety team, not auto-forwarded.
  • Serious categories — phishing, malware, fraud, child safety, threats — are prioritised.
  • Where the evidence supports it, we escalate to the registrar.
  • We never disclose the registrant's identity as part of handling a report.
  • Provide URLs, headers, timestamps and evidence to speed up review.

A privacy layer, not a wall.

The point of GuardPrivacy is that a registrant can stay private and still be reachable for the things that matter.
